Today is the second “offical” anniversary of this online journal. It started way back in June of 2000 on my old site at home.chattanooga.net then to my first domain name baud.cx, then to the domain you are on now…mkelley.net. Although this journal has been going for two years steadily, I’ve been keeping a journal in one form or another sice 1996, and somewhere in my 1gb of ZIP disks lies the site circa. 1996 & 1998. I also have a floppy backup somewhere in the piles of my stuff at my grandmother’s house.

In the two years I’ve been doing this journal:

I was diagnosed with diabetes

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism

I got married

I changed jobs

I’ve been hosted on 5…soon to be 6 different hosts

I’ve used 4 different ways of keeping a journal

I’ve switched from Windows to MacOS

I’m still not a member of daynotes.com :)

I’ve lived in 3 different places

I have typed more than 100,000 words

Up until two weeks ago, I was still using the same computer that edited this journal (3rd edition) back in 2000 and the 2nd edition in 1998.

I’ve owned 16 computers, sold or trashed 11, & have 5 currently…3 are Macs.

Over 80,000 visitors have accessed this journal, with over 30,000 visits in the past 12 months

In celebration of the two year anniversary of the weblog and the discovery at my Drs appt. yesterday that my cholesterol has gone down 150 points in the past 6 weeks, I decided to have a nice (very heart un-friendly) meal of Popeye’s Red Beans & Rice with Chicken. I could just eat their red beans & rice all the time….mmmmm goood. {wipes drool from mouth} Ok, it’s now back to Salads and Low-fat meals for me.
