Mozilla, NTLM, and Windows 98 Working Happily Together
I’ve noted several problems I’ve had in getting Mozilla to work behind a Microsoft
ISA server, using NTLM to authenticate. Mozilla 1.4 was said to work, but upon
release, it only allowed ntlm on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. But there have
been several, several things that change. So instead of harping on all of that, here is how
to get Mozilla working behind your NTLM proxy.
- Download Mozilla 1.5b for Windows
- Download Secur32.dll.
- This will bump your version to 4.10.0.2228. According to to bug #212336,
the older and newer versions will not work. Using the stock Windows 98/98SE
version will crash Mozilla.
- This will bump your version to 4.10.0.2228. According to to bug #212336,
- Reboot
When you first run the browser, it will pop up a dialog box for you to log into. Enter “domainusername” as the login and put your password into the password box.
