Rebel, Sweetheart, Wallflowers

wallflowersWe’re very excited to announce that The Wallflowers will release their first album in three years, Rebel, Sweetheart on May 24th. The album’s first single is called “The Beautiful Side Of Somewhere” and will be released to radio in mid-March. The album was produced by Brendan O’Brien and recorded at Southern Tracks Recording in Atlanta during the summer and fall of 2004.
The band will tour extensively throughout the U.S. and the world following the album’s release.

Silly me, I forgot to add my little commentary to this post.
This will be the band’s first release since the departure of drummer Mario Calire (now with Ozomatli), with new drummer (former Tori Amos drummer and studio drummer), Matt Chamberlain. Matt also played on The Wallflowers’ “Bringing Down the Horse.

You are right, just found that out. But earlier in the year, Matt was offered and accepted the position. He’s busy doing sessions and touring, so I’m not sure when the change over happened.

matt was offered, accepted, then later declined so they hired fred. Matt actually never ended up doing a show with the wallflowers…..its all been fred.
