I just quit my band. It was one of the hardest things I had done in my life. I put a lot of myself into those songs and not only did I lose that, I almost lost my friends. My heart isn’t in it anymore. I wish them well and hopefully I’ll be able to heal enough to be friends with them down the line.

Honestly, my heart is broken. I just want music to be something I love again. I can’t write about it, I can hardly listen to it, and I sure can’t play it.

it was the most fruitful musical relationship I have ever been in. If most bands had a 1/10th of what we had, it would be a better world (musically).

RIP Ian Copeland

{Ian Copeland, 57; Booking Agent for New Wave, Punk Bands, Including the Police – Los Angeles Times} – “Ian Copeland, a booking agent who helped the Police and other new wave and punk bands break into the U. S. music scene by stitching together a club circuit that the bands could play, has died. He was 57. “

Sad loss for the music industry, very interesting character. Grew up being the son of a CIA agent and exposed to live as a world traveler. He also took serious ballbusting to the extreme to get IRS as one of the top alternative labels in the 1980′s. I remember that when REM moved to Warner in ’89, a lot of people accused them of abandoning their roots and selling out. IRS was a stepping stone for greater things.

{US number one for Chili Peppers} – “US rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers have topped the US charts for the first time with their ninth studio album, Stadium Arcadium.”

Really? Seriously? I thought most of their stuff, without Navarro, has been lackluster and not really energetic. Who’s buying the CD is my question?

Famous Modern Pagans

With some of the names listed, I had kinda a “duh” moment. But it was rather eye opening.

On Multiculturalism

April 28th, 2006

I have no problem with the national anthem being sung in a different language. I have a problem with words being changed. We’re still a melting point, more than ever. If you’re an American, you’re bringing your culture to this national soup. Part of that is language…..

I honestly and truly believe that if an American wants to sing the anthem it’s a matter of honor for that person to translate it in their native tongue.

Want to make it more “American”? I’d love to hear a version of the anthem sung in as many different languages as possible. Lets hear a suni-german-spanish-thai-urdu-filipino-cherokee-english version with a arabic-french-somali-navaho-gaelic version as a b-side.

{Kurt Cobain Action Figure} – “Based on his appearance in the video for “Smells Like Teen Spirit” this Kurt Cobain Action figure includes his guitar, rendered in painstaking detail, and part of the gymnasium floor as his base. Be on the lookout for Kurt to stand with his guitar again on store shelves late in June. Here is our first look at our “Smells Like Teen Spirit” Kurt Cobain. ”

* The track marks are especially life-like.
* Press the button on the back and it will rework a Pixies song, poorly.
* Coming this summer, the Kurt Cobain Summer Fun House…complete with Malibu Aberdeen Courtney action figure.
